Genealogy

Genealogy is by far one of the most popular hobbies in the United States. Expertise and skill levels vary considerably from novice to professional genealogy gurus. If you're interested in genealogy, the first, possibly most important step is to start with what you know.

Joining the DAR does not require an interest in genealogy, but it helps to have some knowledge of one’s ancestry.  At the very least, you will need to gather documents for yourself, your parents, grandparents, and possibly great-grandparents.  With some 3,000 chapters nationally and internationally, DAR has teams of volunteers who can assist you if you need help with your research.
